UK Internet Banking on the rise

May 9th, 2009

A recent survey carried out by Halifax has probed that it is 68% the percentage of savers with an online savings account using the internet to bank.

More generally, 49% of all of the internet users make somehow use of internet banking.

According to the same research, it appears that the headline interest rate is the main contributing factor when deciding on a savings account for only 13% of people, which may actually look a bit surprising.

46% of the polled bank customers have declared their main concern is how their bank account is managed on the whole.

When it comes to selecting a savings account, price comparison websites are visited by 34% of users, 11% of whom will resort to an online savings product selector to help them decide which account will suit their needs.

About 37% of internet savings account users claim their main reason for using an online account is because transferring money is easy and 38% declare it is the 24-hour-a-day access that they appreciate the most.
