Metro Bank celebrates its first first birthday

Metro Bank (metrobankonline.co.uk), Britain’s first new High Street bank in 100 years, celebrates its first birthday on July 29th, 2011.
In its first 12 months Metro Bank has opened over 25,000 retail and business accounts and continues to grow at over 1000 accounts a week.
Metro Bank has brought back the Local Bank Manager, which has appealed to over 1200 Commercial customers in the first year.
Metro Bank, which has already opened 8 stores in its first 12 months, will open a further 16 stores over the next 18 months, trebling the number of stores to 24. This means the about 300 jobs already created will more than double to over 600 by the end of 2012.
